Wage Hope to end pancreatic cancer

Many of you know PurpleStride is a big part of our life and we want you to be a part of it.  The run/walk will be virtual this year.  Be sure to follow our Kansas City Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Facebook page and tune in this Saturday, May 2nd for our Opening Ceremony including the National Anthem, a short video to get you warmed up, activities for the kids and more!  Take time this weekend to put on your purple and get outside - find a new trail, run a 5k in your neighborhood or take a walk with your family.

I can't believe it has been over 10 years since Dad lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.  His presence is missed each and every day.  Dad could always light up the room, provide reassurance to anyone neediing a little extra pick-me-up, and never hesitant to generously share his time and energy for anyone in need...whether family, friend or a complete stranger.

Last winter, my family was heartbroken to hear that Kevin's sweet aunt was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  Her recent passing has just motivated our family to continue to advocate and push for early detection and better treatment in order to reduce the suffering and better the outcome.

Be well and stay safe!
