April 25th will mark team Big Joe's 8th time taking part in NYC Purple Stride.
What started out as a step towards positive when faced with a beast has become a tradition of some truly top drawer folks showing up, April after April, to support research, hope for a cure and keep Joe's spirit running along.
Over the years team Big Joe has been supported by generous family and friends raising close to $30,000 to help kick cancer in the pancreas.
And every bit counts.
The stats are miserable--with a five year survival rate that's finally inched up to 9%.
For us, March 2nd will mark six years since we lost Joe but his gorgeous heart carries on with every step, stride and stroll this motley crew takes.
So what can you do?
Do what Joe would do.
Support good people doing good things.
Join Big Joe as runner/walker--this year's Purple Stride is a mere 2-miler at the South Street Seaport--stroller and kid friendly and no need to train.
Or throw your support into the hat with a much appreciated donation.
Because the only hope for a cure is good people and good science--be the good people.
Return supporters or first timers--we can't thank you enough.
