As Herman lived his life filled with "no regrets", one of his prized possession was his convertible. His first being a mid-80s red Spider Fiat, and then 90s black Mazada Miata. On any given sunny day, you could see him cruising through the streets of east Alabama, enjoying the view and the Vitamin D. I can remember the excitement he had when weeks after his surgery, he was able to ride through the town once more in his black leather hat to conceal the baldness from chemo. I can only imagine that the day he arrived to the pearly gates in a white "drop-top", meeting his Father, father, and father-in-law, as well as long those gold-paved streets.
