Wage Hope to end pancreatic cancer
In the U.S. last year, about 57,000 people were diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The 5-year survival rate remains lower than 9 percent. While pancreatic cancer only accounts for about 3% of all cancers in the U.S., it accounts for about 7% of all cancer deaths.
This issue is all very important to me, because I have been a survivor of this dreaded cancer since my treatment in 2001. I know how fortunate I am to still be alive.
Research has continued to improve early detection, diagnoses, treatments, and outcomes. Survival rates have more than doubled since I was treated.
Vince, Russell and I will join thousands for our local Purple Stride to support the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN). We need you! Join us to walk or run. Or give! We hope the event will raise more than $1 million to fight pancreatic cancer!
