Wage Hope to end pancreatic cancer
Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time out to visit this page.
We created a team and will be waging hope at the Purple Stride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer.
Our story: My dad, Silvio Rivera was diagnosed with stage IV Pancreatic Cancer this past January. As you all can imagine this was a huge blow to our family. How could this happen when he went to the doctor, always up to date with his things, how did stage IV cancer happen??
My dad is 68 years old, worked everyday of his life to give all of us what we needed and wanted. Relocating to Miami from Nicaragua to give his young family a chance of a good life in 1986. He has a wife, 4 kids and 7 grandkids who look up to him and love him.
Along with this scary diagnosis comes educating ourselves and trying to come to terms with what this all means. And if there is one thing I’ve learned is that we need more research to try and find better treatments and better outcomes.
This is why we have decided to participate in this walk to raise money to help find a cure. So please join me by joining the team, donating money, sharing our mission, praying for our everyone who has been fighting this along with their families. Join us anyway you can!
Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 10%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination.
I’ve stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. Will you help me rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation today?
Every dollar that you give ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to improve outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients.
Purple ribbons aren’t enough. Please join me in the fight today.
