We are walking in memory of our mom Barbara Speck. She lost her battle against Pancreatic Cancer in December of 2016 and she is very missed by all who knew her. Like so many others suffering from this disease she was much too young and had too little time. This terrible disease is so devastating to those diagnosed and their families because of the low survival rates; the 5 year survival rate for pancreatic cancer is 10%. There is no method for early detection, by the time most patients see a doctor for their symptoms the cancer is already advanced.
The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network raises awareness of the disease, advocates for funding and research, and helps patients and families navigate through the diagnosis. They provide them with free information, resources, and connect them with a community.
Our goal in fundraising is to increase awareness and funding for research to make strides against this disease, so someone else's mom has more options and more time.
We hope you can join our team and really appreciate the support!
