Captain Ron's Crew

Wage Hope to end pancreatic cancer

We are striding in loving memory of Ron Swietek. On October 22, 2013 (the day Ron's first grandchild Tanner was born), we learned he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Sadly, Ron passed away after an eight-month courageous battle on June 30, 2014. Ron was only 55. Like many individuals who are diagnosed with this horrible disease, he was taken from us way too soon. In 1989, Ron's mother, Lillian, also succumbed to pancreatic cancer at age 69.

This will be our seventh PurpleStride as Captain Ron's Crew! This year will be the 10th Anniversary of PurpleStride San Diego.

Over the past six years, Captain Ron's Crew has raised over $44,000 for PurpleStride San Diego! We are determined to continue these fundraising efforts which creates more awareness, raises money to further pancreatic cancer research, provides support for those affected by this disease, and ultimately to find a CURE. We must rewrite the future of pancreatic cancer.

Pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States, killing more people than breast cancer.

Please join our team & make a donation to Captain Ron's Crew and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network today! We look forward to seeing you in October!!
