Welcome to our team fundraising page!

My dad, Robert Yost - known to most as “Bob” or “Mad Dog” - died from pancreatic cancer on December 19, 2017, just 15 weeks after he was diagnosed. The last few months of my dad's life were some of the worst times of our lives as we watched this awful disease steal his vibrant spirit. My dad was a fun-loving, generous guy who enjoyed spending time with his friends & family, going out to eat, playing pool and singing karaoke. He loved animals, nature, and adored "grandpa's buddy," our son Dillon, who is pictured with him above.  Unfortunately, my dad was unable to enjoy many of life’s simple pleasures, such as eating a meal or sleeping in his own home while he battled this disease as he was hospitalized for the majority of his last few months (75 days total). We lost my dad way too soon and I've missed him terribly ever since the moment I held his hand as he took his last breath. I always wish we could have the happy, healthy version of my dad back with us.

Pancreatic cancer has the LOWEST SURVIVAL RATE of all major cancers, only 9% will survive 5 years after diagnosis. Many like my dad will die within the first several months, or even weeks, after they receive the devastating news because pancreatic cancer is usually detected too late due to lack of early detection testing methods. This deadly disease has taken my dad and many loved ones, but it can’t take away our determination to demand better funding for research and treatment options for pancreatic cancer patients.

My team - “Mad Dog” in honor of my Dad - has stepped up to #WageHope at Purple Stride Cleveland 2020, taking place “virtually” this year on  on Saturday, June 13, 2020. Please help us rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation today!

Every dollar that you donate ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to create better outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. By donating to our team, you are supporting vital efforts to improve the survival rates for pancreatic cancer.

Purple ribbons aren’t enough. Please join us to #DemandBetter for pancreatic cancer patients and their loved ones.  Thank you all for your support!
