Paul Glenn Hackett

02/14/1965 - 03/23/2019

The passing of Chief Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in 2020, following her personal struggle with pancreatic cancer, empowers me to keep Paul's memory alive through PanCan. Paul greatly admired her for her groundbreaking work on many social issues but none as important as same-sex marriage. "People who love each other and want to live together should be able to enjoy the BLESSINGS and the STRIFE in the marriage relationship." wrote Ginsburg. She was the first Supreme Court justice to perform a same-sex wedding.

We've since lost countless others, including our own family members and friends.

As I wrote in Paul's obituary in 2019, "Paul always left you thinking...he left his mark." How fitting those words also apply to the 87 year old Chief Justice RBG. Two great heroes to many of us, taken by this horrible cancer.

Let's make progress! We have to turn around the death statistics for those with a pancreatic cancer diagnosis. Let's honor Paul and RBG and so many others. Let's help patients and their loved ones with a pancreatic cancer diagnosis, by raising funds for life changing programs, services, treatments, and an ultimate cure for pancreatic cancer.

Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 10%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination.

Our team has stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. Will you help us rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation today?

Every dollar that you donate ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to create better outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. By donating to our team, you are supporting vital efforts toward pancreatic cancer survival.

Purple ribbons aren’t enough. Please join us in the fight today.
