Our Sharona

Raised: $200

Goal: $3,000

Welcome to our team fundraising page!

Sharon, had been battling Stage III pancreatic cancer since her diagnosis back in November 2016 at the young age of 60.  After 9 months of battling this evil disease, Sharon passed away on August 5th, 2017 surrounded by her loving husband and children. She had fought through countless rounds of chemo therapy in hopes to some day regain the quality of life she had lived for so long and gave back to research to help others with this deadly disease.

Sharon, lovingly nicknamed, "Sharona" had a zest for life, the outdoors, a energetic personality, a smile that could light up any room and a distinct laugh that was heard wherever she went. Sharona was an elementary school teacher in New Jersey specializing in Computer Technology.  She was always devoted to molding young minds and guiding them on a path that would afford them the opportunity to succeed in life. She was a mother of three amazing children, David, Laurel, and Leeanne, and had been married to their father Randy for over 42 years. Each of them have been right by her side through this very difficult time and served witness to what this deadly disease can do to someone. Our team is dedicated to raising money so that others may not have to endure the same effects.

Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 9%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination.

Our team, Our Sharona, has stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. Will you help us rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation today?

Every dollar that you donate ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to create better outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families, something that Sharona was very passionate about. By donating to our team, you are supporting vital efforts to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020.
