Welcome to our team fundraising page!

In July 2014 at the young age of 33 years, Dustin James was diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer. His first son, Cade, was born three weeks before Dustin’s diagnosis. Dustin underwent very aggressive chemotherapy and radiation treatment and never gave up. He survived 14-months after his diagnosis dying on September 2, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

Dustin grew up in Central Texas and graduated from Leander High School. It was there that he met his best friend and wife Dawn. Dustin graduated from Texas A&M in 2007 with a BS in Construction Science and was one of the most faithful Fightin' Texas Aggies ever.

Dustin loved to hunt, fish, and enjoy life to the fullest. He had a wonderful way of making people laugh and never met a stranger. His personality won over everyone he met throughout his life.

Though Cade was too young to remember his daddy, he will know him through shared memories and photographs. He bears a striking resemblance to his dad. Cade is now 7 and will walk with us at the 2022 PurpleStride in Austin.

The Dustin Lee James Foundation is raising money in support of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network by participating in PurpleStride.
