Welcome to our team fundraising page!

Welcome and THANK YOU for coming to our fundraising page!! I started this team in honor of my grandparents, and it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. My grandfather passed away from pancreatic cancer when my mom was just 6 years old, leaving my grandmother with the responsibility of raising 4 children on her own. I deeply admire my grandmother for this, and I lament that I never got to meet my grandfather. But mostly, I wish my mom could have had more time with her dad.

Because of the insidious and aggressive nature of this cancer, time is of the essence when it comes to fundraising. There are no symptoms in it’s early stages, and later symptoms are non-specific. Pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of all major cancers, and the 5-year survival rate is only 10%. By raising money, we can help fund the research that can detect and diagnose this cancer earlier, develop life-saving treatments, and hopefully give children and grandchildren more time with their loved ones.

I hope you will consider donating to this wonderful charity, which has been given 4/4 stars on Charity Navigator and an A- on Charity Watch. My team and I will be raising funds until April 30th, when we will be walking in the PurpleStride charity walk. Thank you, again, for visiting our page, and God bless :)
