Welcome to our team fundraising page!

The year 2020 certainly has been a year very different from others. One thing that hasn't changed this year is the survival rate for pancreatic cancer. According to the Pancreatic Action Network pancreatic cancer is the only cancer among the top five cancer killers that our nation has yet to make significant progress towards increasing the survival rate. The five-year survival rate is just six percent and has not changed significantly in over 40 years. In fact, 74% of the people diagnosed this year will die within 12 months. This was the case for my dad over 10 years ago. Unfortunately, that same year, my mom was also diagnosed; her battle lasted 3 1/2 years. It is a horrible disease and we need quicker diagnoses and a cure. That is why I am committed to walking every year to help raise money for critical research.

Again, 2020 is different, and we are not walking as one community in Fairmount Park, but we are still participating as a virtual team. I plan to walk with my family in our community. Please join my team with any donation to help us raise money to make improvements in diagnosis and treatment.  I am so thankful for all who have joined me in the past and hope you will again this year!! Your participation means a lot to me and my family, whose possible genetic predisposition puts us at a greater risk. Thank you in advance for your help!
