In honor of Amy Howard and Carrie Szupinka, our team is participating in PanCAN’s PurpleStride, a year-round national movement that funds lifechanging programs and services for pancreatic cancer patients and their families.
Amy Howard, a beloved mother of six children, was diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer in September 2012. While she was given one month to live, she fought for ten as the cancer spread to her liver, intestines and eventually her brain. She ended her battle with cancer and passed away in July of 2013.
Carrie Szupinka, a cherished mother of three children, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in September 2011. Her large tumor was slow growing and affected her endocrine system, later being determined it was two tumors. After three years of fighting, she ended her battle with cancer and passed away in August of 2014.
While we remember their brave resilience as they fought such a devastating illness, we also remember their bright spirits, infectious laughs and radiant joy. This pair of friends fought together, keeping smiles on their faces in the face of such devastation. In their honor of their incredible lives, we fight, we support, and we walk for them.
Please join our team as a participant, or make a gift of any size to get us one step closer to our fundraising goal and improving more patients’ lives. You can donate to a team member or make a general donation to the team.
Every dollar you give means more patients can benefit from PanCAN’s free, one-on-one support, personalized information, service and resources that can make a real difference in their lives.
We’re going to help make progress, with your support. Patients and families need us now more than ever.
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
The Howard and Szupinka/Flati Families
