Wage Hope at PurpleStride. The walk to end pancreatic cancer.

Welcome to our team fundraising page!

January 7, 2018 my life officially changed. That is the day I got sick for no reason and after multiple rounds of testing and biopsies, I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. I underwent the Whipple surgery on May 10, 2018 where it was confirmed that I had stage 1 adenocarcinoma. I began chemotherapy on June 27, 2018 and completed my 12th treatment on April 2, 2019.

Since I was diagnosed, I have been contacted by numerous people who were diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.  I still have numerous side effects from my treatment, but I am here and I want to fight this disease and raise enough money to find a cure.

Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 10%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination.

I’ve stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. Will you help me rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation today? Will you join my team and support me, side by side with me? Help me turn the Heritage Trail/ Southside Works PURPLE on 4/30/2022.

Every dollar that you give ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to improve outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. By donating today, you are supporting vital efforts to double pancreatic cancer survival.

Purple ribbons aren’t enough. Please join me in the fight today.

Support me by sending in pictures of yourself wearing purple, holding a sign that shows, "I support Megan Shilling, a pancreatic cancer survivor. #Megan's Mob.

Registration for the walk is free. If you would like to donate to help find a cure that would be wonderful. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
