Welcome to our team fundraising page!

Elinor was passionate about running and ran many marathons including the Boston Marathon 2013! She was denied her dream of finishing Boston, as the bombing occurred when she was one mile from the finish line. She returned home and promptly ran another marathon to achieve a qualifying time to again compete in the Boston Marathon. She did it! She registered for and was accepted to run the Boston Marathon 2014.

In January 2014, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She felt her dream would never come to fruition. She requested and surprisingly was approved by the Board of Directors of the Boston Marathon and the Boston Police Department to enter the course at the one mile marker and finish the mile she had been denied. In April of 2014, Elinor walked part of the final mile but RAN across the finish line! Much to her surprise, crossing the finish line was only part of a very emotional day. As two of Boston's Finest escorted her onto the course at the one mile marker, obviously quite ill, the crowd went crazy! The love and support she felt from total strangers was amazing. Elinor died on September 12, 2014, leaving four children, ages 9 to 28.
