Welcome to our team fundraising page!

My mom was a stubborn and determined fighter who lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on October 20, 2017, two months after she was diagnosed. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, daughter, friend, and overall person. You truly don't realize what you have until its gone, and she was taken from all of us much too soon. I would do anything for just one more conversation with her. Before she was diagnosed, I had never even heard of pancreatic cancer. It is one of the most underfunded and unknown types of cancer, which is why there is such a low survival rate. But my mom never told us that. Instead, she told us all about the stories of the survivors. She would never give any hint of the amount of pain she was in, or how frightened she was. She put a smile on her face every single day and continued to enjoy the things she loved until she physically could not do so anymore. My mom has, and always will, be a model of the person I want to be; smart, loving, giving, humble, and, most importantly, strong. Her strength is something I will always remember. She never gave up, even in the worst of situations. Until the very end she fought through her pain to make sure my brothers and I knew how much she loved us. The first and last words she ever said to me were "I love you". Her nurturing and loving ways will always be with me and inspire me in my daily life as the best version of myself, as a person and as a mother.

Fundraising and donating money to cause close to her was very important to my mom, in fact, one of the first things we did after she was diagnosed was research how and where we could get involved. The PanCan Purple Stride walk in Philly happened to be a month away at the time, so she quickly signed us up and set a goal we far surpassed that first year. She passed a week and a half before that first walk. While she has never physically been able to attend one of the walks, she has always been there with us in spirit, and beaming down on us with pride that something she was so passionate about has been carried on.

Purple ribbons aren’t enough. Please join us in the fight today.
