Captain Ron's WA Crew

Raised: $264

Goal: $500

Welcome to our team fundraising page!

We are striding for everyone who has been affected by pancreatic cancer but also in loving memory of Ron Swietek. On October 22, 2013, the day Ron’s first grandchild Tanner was born, we learned that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Sadly, Ron lost his eight-month courageous battle on June 30, 2014. Ron was only 55. Like many individuals who are diagnosed with this disease, he was taken from us way too soon. In 1988, Ron’s mother, Lillian, also passed away from pancreatic cancer.

This will be our eighth PurpleStride as Captain Ron’s Crew. We've walked in California and now we'll ALSO be walking in Washington! Captain Ron's Crew is growing! Join us in the fight!

For the first time, there will be 59 U.S cities taking steps in the PanCAN PurpleStride event on the same day in April 2022! This means more awareness and more funds to keep PanCAN’s programs running so patients and families don’t have to navigate pancreatic cancer alone. Let’s take the steps together in the fight to end Pancreatic Cancer! Hope to see you on April 30th for the in-person San Diego stride!

About PanCAN's PurpleStride

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s (PanCAN) PurpleStride is a year-round national movement that funds life-changing programs and services to accelerate progress for pancreatic cancer patients.

On one powerful day through nearly 60 PurpleStride events nationwide, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is the number-one way PanCAN raises money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
