Welcome to our team fundraising page!

52 years ago I lost my Mom to pancreatic cancer - she was 52, I was 16. It was most definitely a defining moment in my life in so many ways - ways I wouldn't even realize for years to come. For instance, my heart for mentoring - both to mentor and to be mentored - grew from the loss of my precious Mom. So many things I could never share with her: graduations, wedding, children and now grandchildren; our shared love of fabric which has brought me into a retirement hobby of quilting where I think of her so many times as I create my quilts. But even in that, God has provided a special group of ladies who are mentoring me in both this hobby and in life. And one of her granddaughters has apparently genetically found this same love of textiles in her career. I see my Mom in my girls in so many ways but especially our sense of humor when we're together. We, and she, loved to laugh. The list goes on. On her tombstone it says at my suggestion: "To know her was to love her."
Every year, I hear of more and more people losing loved ones to this cancer. Why? Because it is considered one of the deadliest as it is so hard to detect, and once the symptoms present, it is in most cases too late to treat.
So I'm seeking 50-100 friends who would donate between $20-$40 to meet my team goal of $2022. I have already donated $52, a $1 for every year I've lived without my Mother. If you've known a friend or relative that has died of pancreatic cancer, you could make this donation in their memory. I'm getting a late start so I only have 10 days to raise the funds.
Also, I would love to have as many that would/could to join my team & come join me for the PurpleStride run/walk on April 30. Details below. My team: PAUMEN PURPLE STRIDERS. And wear purple if you can. Won't you join me?
