Welcome to our team fundraising page!

The Purple Stride 5k for Pancreatic Awareness is next weekend April 30th instead of how it’s usually held in November every year. We have done this run every year since 2012 in honor of my dad and his fight against this ruthless disease.

My father, Inayat Syed, was diagnosed in July of 2012 with stage 3 pancreatic cancer. By the time he was diagnosed the cancer had already locally advanced leaving him with a bleak prognosis. He passed away due to pancreatic cancer on January 20, 2013. There's not a single day that goes by that we don't feel his loss. However, my family's experience is just one of many. Pancreatic Cancer is gravely overlooked and the first step to combating this disease is by awareness and support.

Unfortunately this year my family and I won’t be able to be there for the first time in 10 years. This was very difficult for us as it’s always been a way that we’ve kept his memory alive. Even though the walk is next week we have decided to still create the team and still raise money in his honor.

The money raised will help fund research for treatments against pancreatic cancer, community support for patients and families alike, and help those that are living with the disease. Please consider donating to help the people fighting the battle and honoring my dad. Thank you!
