When Barry was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2018 the five year survival rate was 5%. Today that number is 12%! Barry is doing great…his continued success in this fight is due to the new treatment options discovered during research! He was lucky that surgery and chemo were successful. In the fall of 2021 he became patient 1 of a phase 1 study, doing his part to help others fight this awful disease! It’s been a difficult year but Barry remains NED, no evidence of disease. Barry has the BRCA2 mutation which greatly increased his chances of developing this awful disease, many in our family have since tested positive! This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination and our hope!
