Amidst the panic and uncharted territory of COVID-19, my brother, Aaron, found himself driving to the hospital for what he thought was dehydration. After a night full of revolving doctors, scans and bloodwork, he was diagnosed with Stage 1 Pancreatic Cancer. After almost a year of treatment, Aaron went home to be with the Lord on January 16, 2021. Not a day goes by that he isn't with us.
My brother has always been my biggest supporter. He consistently reached out to check on me and was always eager to do whatever it takes to ensure I was doing well. We shared a fervent passion for college football. Although we supported opposing teams, we enjoyed nonstop banter of who’s team is better. Now it is my turn to support him. I’ve pledged to raise $5k with PurpleStride for pancreatic cancer research. I created a team named “We are Aaron LaF”, a nod to Aaron’s passion for Penn State football. Let’s come together to rewrite the future of this disease. Thank you for your support.
Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 10%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination.
I’ve stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. Will you help me rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation today?
Every dollar that you give ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to improve outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients.
Purple ribbons aren’t enough. Please join me in the fight today.
