According to the Pancreatic Action Network pancreatic cancer is the only cancer among the top five cancer killers that our nation has yet to make significant progress towards increasing the survival rate, although it is going in the right direction. The five-year survival rate when we started doing our Walk, it was just six percent, now it is 12%. Not the greatest, but better and this progress, is thanks in a large part, due to donations to fundraising efforts like our family's Walk. We lost both of our parents to this cancer giving my family members a 50% chance of being diagnosed with it. So, we refuse to quit and we will walk every year to help fight pancreatic cancer.
