Hello Family & Friends,

As many of you already know, my mom fell at her home on August 15, 2021 and had to go to the ER. They performed x-rays and CT scans to make sure she didn't have any broken bones. Although she had no broken bones, the results showed a buildup of fluid in her abdomen and suspicious nodules in her lungs and abdomen wall. She was referred to a specialist to drain the fluid buildup and biopsy a few of the nodules. We received mom’s pathology reports and were heartbroken to discover that she has stage IV pancreatic adenocarcinoma.

Mom passed away 81 days later on November 4, 2021. This is the same vicious disease that took the life of her mother and we recently found out that one of my mom's younger brothers was also diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Early detection is key to survival!

I want to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients and to honor those who lost their battle with this disease – and I need your help to do that!

Here’s where you come in! I created a team 4 GERI and will be participating in the PanCan PurpleStride 5K on April 29, 2023. PurpleStride is the ultimate walk held in 60 locations nationwide to raise money for pancreatic cancer research and to help those fighting the disease. I’ve set an ambitious fundraising goal because the more money I raise, the bigger impact we make – and would appreciate a gift of any size to help me get there.
