Metastatic Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer - Again!
Eight years ago, I was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is recognized as the king of all cancers because it is one of the most deadly with a five-year survival rate only 6% when I was diagnosed. Today, the five-year survival rate has almost doubled to 10% and much of that success can be attributed to the funds raised for Pancreatic Cancer research. Even so, a 10% survival rate is still way too low.
Since I was diagnosed, I fought and beat multiple recurrences of the cancer, so I'm a four-time (2014, 2017, 2019, 2021) Pancreatic cancer survivor which makes me a one or two percenter.
Most recently, routine CT scans from September 2021 showed the cancer metastasized to my liver and right lung and I went back on chemo for the third time. I've been on chemo the past six months. This is the same treatment I followed in the past - get chemo first to shrink the tumor, then get surgery to resect it.
I am asking for your help to take a moment and give from your heart to help find a cure and more effective treatments for this devastating disease. I've stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, as I do every year - since 2015. Will you help me rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation today?
Every dollar that you give ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to improve outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. By donating today, you are supporting vital efforts to reach our $10M goal this year.
Purple ribbons aren’t enough. It takes money to find a cure. Please join me in the fight today.
Thanks in advance,
Robert
