Welcome to our team fundraising page!

Our team #PoweredbyDidi is raising money in support of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network by participating in PurpleStride.

As of March 3, 2017, a mass in the pancreatic head bed encasing the common hepatic artery was found during a scan. A week later a biopsy was performed and was found to be Stage IV Pancreatic Carcinoma. I was given 3-6 months if I did nothing. My choice is two chemotherapy options. The chemotherapy may give me 6-11 months longer. With that being said, I may or may not be physically here to walk, but I am asking you to walk, talk, donate and bring awareness to this deadly cancer. As of March 3, 2017, a mass in the pancreatic head bed encasing the common hepatic artery was found during a scan.  ### Just 6 months ago I was re-diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and my oncologist told me that I had 3 to 6 months to live. In April and May I was given Florfirinox chemo that put me in the hospital every time. So I started to look for new oncologist and trial doctors. Well I found new doctors that are supportive and will fight for me. I needed to perform blood work, biopsy and a CT scan to qualify for any available trail. I was accepted to three trials in August. I can’t thank Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PANCAN) enough. They provided information on trials and connected me with Perthera that diagnosed my tumor with my mutation. This information on my mutation assisted me in the decision of which trail best fit for me. So last week on Wednesday I started the Palbociclib (oral CDK 4/6 inhibitor) plus Abraxane trail. I had an infusion and 30 min after a blood draw was performed to monitor my markers. Then blood draw at the hour mark 2 hour mark and 4 hour mark. Then another blood draw on Thursday and Friday. On Friday I began taking a daily oral pill. I will need a CT scan in two months to determine the stage of my tumor. If the tumor (fingers crossed) has shrunk, stabilized or (hope not) grown. After CT scan results, I will need to make the decision to stay on this trial or move on to the next trial. I can be on this trial for the rest of my life if it keeps working for me. So far no side effects either. With everyone’s support/prayers I have surpassed the 3 to 6 month mark and will continue to fight PC.

Lets do this! With your help we could pave the way to end PC by 2020
