Welcome to Our PanCAN PurpleStride Team Fundraising Page!
Hello everyone,
This year, we will be honoring the late Nikos Tsakmakis during the PanCAN PurpleStride on Saturday, April 29, 2023 in Boston.
It was March 22nd, 2022 when we received Nikos’ diagnosis of Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. There was barely enough time to digest the news, as we lost Niko on June 2nd that same year. A son, husband, brother, and friend with the heart of a warrior whose dying wish was to try to save lives through raising awareness around the signs and symptoms of this silent killer.
Pancreatic cancer is considered a rare cancer. It is however the 3rd leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States with the highest mortality rate of all major cancers. PurpleStride is the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer. Supporting this foundation can help honor those we lost, celebrate survivors and raise funds for essential research like the PanCAN Early Detection Initiative and free resources and support from PanCAN Patient Services.

On One Big Day, through 60 PurpleStride events taking place across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.
