Welcome to our team fundraising page!

I’m taking steps to end pancreatic cancer at PanCAN PurpleStride on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

I want to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and I need your help to do that!

Pancreatic cancer is hard to find early. People usually have no obvious symptoms until the cancer has become very large or has already spread to other organs. When my mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, we only knew about it for a couple months before she passed. Back then, in 2004, the 5 year survival rate was just at 4%. Now with PanCAN leading the way in accelerating leading edge research getting us closer to new discoveries, in 2023, the 5 year survival rate is at 12%. PanCAN has a goal to see that rate increase to 20% by 2030.

PanCAN PurpleStride is the number one way PanCAN raises money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients, and gives them free, personalized one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services. Here’s where you come in! I’ve set a fundraising goal – because the more money I raise, the bigger impact we make – and would appreciate a gift of any size to help me get there.

PanCAN PurpleStride is for everyone, and I’d love for you to join me! Just click the Register button at the top of this page and follow a few easy steps to get set up. And anyone who registers and raises $50 will receive an official PanCAN PurpleStride 2023 T-shirt!

Can I count on you to get us one step closer to the day where pancreatic cancer patients don’t just survive but thrive?

You can join my team, Fuzzy Amadextri, and walk with me on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Harriet Island. See event details. Why the name Fuzzy Amadextri? When my mom was home from the hospital for the last time and one of the last few days I got to see her, my uncle and I took her to the park and pushed her around in her wheelchair. She was having so much fun and asked me to pick flowers and pretty weeds for her. We made a bouquet of weeds and she wanted to give them fake scientific names. One in particular was tall with no leaves but a fuzzy top. She called is Fuzzy Amadextri. It was picked in the place that we ended up scattering her ashes and it brings joy seeing those in that park, be it a weed or not.

I hope to see you at the walk for PurpleStride to fight pancreatic cancer! Thank you for your support!
