Dear Friends & Family,

Every year is a blessing and celebration! This year I will celebrate my 8-year survivor anniversary on July 25th!!!  Praise God!!!  During this past 8 years I have been blessed to have so many of my dreams come true.  In May, I was able to celebrate the wedding of Kyle & Madeline and in June, Ryan and Chantell moved into their first home.  The day I had dreamed of came true on November 4th when we welcomed our first grandchild, Noah Matthew.  There is no greater joy than to hold and love my sweet grandbaby.  One of the hardest things when I was diagnosed was thinking that I may never watch Ryan and Kyle get married and I may not be here to hold and love my grandchildren.  Well, here I am enjoying my dream come true and loving every minute of it.

When I was diagnosed in 2015, the 5-year survival rate was 6% and today it is 12%.  That is a huge increase!!! Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCan) has helped to make this success possible!

I want to encourage any of you with pancreatic cancer or with a loved one with pancreatic cancer to never give up.  Don’t be afraid to push forward with different treatments, get second opinions, and look into new treatments and clinical trials.  There are so many new things on the horizon.  PanCan will help you with all of these things. 

I am looking forward to the day when I’m cancer free and can share my testimony about the fight, the hope, and the wonders of God who has blessed and carried me through everything. I live and fight this disease every day because I know with continued research and new treatments, they will find a cure.  I just need to hang in there until they discover it.

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCan) is a premier organization in the funding of pancreatic cancer research, and also an invaluable source for patients in a variety of areas like clinical trial search, genetic information, support groups, and much more.  PanCan has helped me so much throughout my 8-year fight that I don’t know where I would be without them.
