Hey, there!

My team and I are taking steps to end pancreatic cancer at PanCAN PurpleStride on Saturday, April 29, 2023 in honor of Frances McPherson. Did you know most people with pancreatic cancer are diagnosed at stage 4? We hope to change that.

Here is our story: On January 9th 2021 our family's life changed forever. We were told the unfortunate news that Fran had stage 4 pancreatic cancer and had six months to live. Fran was a strong warrior who fought hard and beat the odds. She made each day count and spent time with her family creating lasting memories. She lost her battle on June 15th, 2022 just a few days before her birthday. 

She was known to her family and later by many as Mahi. Which is why it was fitting for our team name to be Mahi’s Mighty Warriors. We hope to honor her legacy by living our life to the fullest with travel, shopping and putting family first just as she did. We hope to make this walk a yearly tradition. 

We want to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and we need your help to do that!

PanCAN PurpleStride is the number one way PanCAN raises money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients, and gives them free, personalized one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services.
