This year, TEAM ADAMS is walking at PurpleStride Rhode Island on April 29th. We are walking in honor of my father, Michael Adams, who lost his battle to Pancreatic Cancer in April of 2021. It is hard to believe it has been almost 2 years  without him, a never ending bad dream. 

My dad was the bravest, funniest, most supportive, most loving person and we stride in honor of him, and other pancreatic cancer patients. 

When my dad got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2017 the 5 year survival rate was only 7%. That terrified me. Although he kicked cancers ass longer than we anticipated and gave up the best fight, he lost his battle and I miss him more than anyone could ever imagine. 

As of January 2023, the 5 year survival rate of pancreatic cancer has increased to 12%. It remains the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths. 

Thanks to generous donors, PANCAN has been able to provide funding for research and initiatives that contribute to increased survival and continued progress in the fight against this tough disease.
