Welcome TeamWesley,
Thank you for visiting my page. I walk in memory of my father, Wesley P Watson. He was diagnosed in October 2015 and succumbed to this disease on January 4, 2016. When my father started feeling ill he was treated for elevated glucose numbers associated with his diabetes. The ER sent him home but when his health didn’t improve he went back. When they took additional tests that’s when they discovered he had pancreatic cancer. If by some chance his symptoms improved or if he didn’t go back for additional tests it’s possible he wouldn’t have been diagnosed properly. This is why i support this organization. They are about bringing awareness to this disease, working within the healthcare system to recognize symptoms earlier to increase early detection rates. That’s why this disease has one of the lowest survival rates. The symptoms are usually masked by uncontrollable diabetes symptoms and most doctors believe it’s rare so they don’t consider it early enough in the diagnosis processes. I didn’t find this organization early enough to take advantage of all the benefits but I want to help bring awareness in the hopes of helping others in the fight against this horrible disease. Patient services provides information on clinical trials, doctor referrals and in some areas we partner with services that provide rides to doctor appointments. This is the only charity that offers this resource for pancreatic cancer patients.
We’re going to help make progress, with your support.
Our team is participating in PanCAN’s PurpleStride, a year-round national movement that funds lifechanging programs and services for pancreatic cancer patients and their families.
Every dollar you give means more patients can benefit from PanCAN’s free, one-on-one support, personalized information, service and resources that can make a real difference in their lives.
Please join our team as a participant, or make a gift of any size to get us one step closer to our fundraising goal and improving more patients’ lives. You can donate to a team member or make a general donation to the team.
Patients and families need us now more than ever.
Thank you for your support.
