Thank you for visiting Team Sawyer's PurpleStride Page. As many of you know, our beloved Dad/Robin was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2018. Those first few weeks post-diagnosis left our family feeling overwhelmed as we grappled with the discouraging prognosis and tried to figure out a treatment plan. With a supportive medical team and resources like PanCan, we eventually found a sense of direction that helped us face the challenges ahead. Our Dad fought hard for a year, exceeding treatment milestones, before he passed away in January 2019. Although it will never be enough, we'll forever cherish the time we had with him and the many gifts he gave us - importantly, his dry British humor, his love of books and learning, and an unrelenting passion for the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

Our family’s story is not uncommon; the five-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer only recently reached double digits. PanCan makes it possible for families to fight, and we're excited to contribute to this important work in our Dad's honor. This year, the Sawyer women are leading a fierce team in PanCAN’s PurpleStride event, a nationwide movement that funds life changing research initiatives and resources for pancreatic cancer patients and their families.
