My team and I are taking steps to end pancreatic cancer at PanCAN PurpleStride on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

Last August our 55 year old dad was told by his doctor that he had the bloodwork of a 35 year old.  Less than 2 months later he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and 3 months after that the cancer took his life.  At the time of his diagnosis he was told he would be lucky if he made it 6 months. In one of the scariest moments of his life, he was given very little hope. 

We share his story because this is the reality for the majority of people diagnosed with this disease. 52% of people who are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer are diagnosed at stage 4, and the current 5 year survival rate for stage 4 pancreatic cancer is just 3%. For a disease with such a limited survival rate and limited treatment options, early detection is crucial, yet far from being obtained.
