Lori B's Story

Lori B is a fighter. Anyone who has met her is certain of that fact. In January 2023, we joyously celebrated as Mom surpassed a major milestone for pancreatic cancer patients, five years cancer-free (the 5-year survival rate is 12%). In February 2023, we received the news no one expected nor ever wanted to hear. Mom's cancer has returned. 

But Lori B continues to fight. She continues to undergo chemotherapy, which she began in March 2023, and thanks to organizations like PanCAN and fundraisers such as PurpleStride, we've been able to receive tremendous support and resources, as have so many others like our mother. 

Pancreatic cancer research and treatment have come a long way since her diagnosis in 2017, this is due in large part to the advocacy, awareness, and fundraising led by PanCAN. To keep progressing the survival rate and providing hope to survivors and families like ours, please join us at PurpleStride San Francisco 2024 on Saturday, April 27.
