Thank you for checking out our team page. We are trying to raise money for The Pancreatic Network Purple Stride on April 27, 2024.

This cause is particularly close to the hearts of my team. My dad, Silvio Rivera was diagnosed on December 29, 2019. Like many families we felt blindsided and like we had been punched in the gut. My Dad fought hard for us, he fought to be here longer for his wife, his kids, and his grandkids. He passed away on January 29, 2021. Exactly 13 months.

Here is a little bit about my dad because he was so much more than just another statistic of pancreatic cancer.

He was born in Nicaragua on September 10, 1951. He was a civil engineer who loved all things construction. He married Rosario (our mom) and had 4 children. In 1986 he immigrated to the United States to give his family a better life. He worked hard along with my mother to give us all we needed and wanted.

They say you can measure a man's success by whether his kids want to hang out with him when they are adults. Well, then he was the most successful man around. He was loved and admired not only by his kids but by his son in laws, daughter-in-law, friends, and colleagues. He was a hard worker who expected nothing but the best.

The best thing my dad showed me was to show up. Show up for the people you love. He was a great man who touched the lives of people around him without him even knowing it.
