We lost Ted Schmidt to pancreatic cancer 6 years ago.
It's a really difficult disease that has such a low survival rate. While in it with him, we came across PanCAN's slogan - wage hope. Those words felt bitter then, but they make more sense to us now. Because since then, the 5-year survival rate has improved from 9 to 13% (equates to over 2,656 survivors). The research is making a difference, which is so encouraging to see. And PanCAN's goal is to reach a 20% survival rate by 2030.
With your support, we want to help other families see better outcomes in the future.
This event funds life-changing programs and services for pancreatic cancer patients and their families.
Would you be willing to donate today?
Every dollar you give helps patients benefit from PanCAN's free, one-on-one support, personalized information, service, and resources. These made a big difference for my parents when they were discouraged. If you can donate, a gift of any size will help improve more patients' lives.
Will you join our team on Saturday, April 27th?
The event helps raise awareness for this dangerous cancer, which is critical since most patients aren't diagnosed at an early enough stage to receive successful treatment. This walk encourages us each year as we unite to continue fighting this cancer and preserving Ted's legacy. We usually meet for the walk and get brunch somewhere close by after.
