Welcome to our team fundraising page!

This year marks the 12th anniversary of the passing of our beloved WINNIE!  We will keep fighting until we find a cure!

Mary “Winnie” Harris Freeman was called home to be with the Lord on November 4, 2012 after a brief, but courageous, battle with pancreatic cancer.  She was the most caring, loving, and vivacious wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.  From that day forward, my family and I decided to join the fight against pancreatic cancer!  We vowed to do our part to spread awareness and raise funds for its research.

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network's (PANCAN) PurpleStride is a year-round national movement that funds life-changing programs and services to accelerate progress to pancreatic cancer patients.  Won't you please join Winnie's Walkers for our 12th year in this gigantic effort?

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
