Our team is raising money in support of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network by participating in PurpleStride.

As you may know, my mom was first diagnosed with neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer in September 2013. Surgery to remove the tumor (which removed the majority of her pancreas), went smoothly, and her recovery went well. But in November 2015, the cancer returned, and metastasized to her liver. She completed selective internal radiation therapy, and now she's doing great!! My mom, as you may also know, is SUPER AWESOME! I'm running this race because I want to live in a world where cancers like this are detected early, and where hundreds of effective and safe treatment options are available, and where doctors know everything there is to know about how cancer works. I'm running this race because I think my mom is the greatest; she taught me to never give up, so I haven't. I'm running for her. And I'm running this race because I want to make sure that future generations don't have to run races for cancer research.
