Hi! Our names are Granger (23 months) and Shepherd (8 months), and we are brothers about to participate in PurpleStride. Many of you knew our Granddaddy, Butch Youmans. After suffering from the horrible disease of pancreatic cancer, he went to live in Heaven 5 years ago. Sadly, we never got to meet him. Everyone tells us that he would have LOVED us more than life itself and would have been our biggest fan and supporter. Some people say we look like him, and Nonna tells us that he would have loved telling us stories about my Dad, Spencer, and our Aunt Savannah growing up. He also would have enjoyed buying us candy, teaching us about baseball, and playing catch with us!! It makes us sad that we will miss growing up without him here, but we will always have a special guardian angel watching over us from Heaven. So... to honor our Granddaddy, we're gonna get in our stroller and stroll around the course at PurpleStride to pay tribute to his memory! It will be lots of fun, but it's serious business too! You see, it raises money to advance research, support patients, and create hope for people fighting pancreatic cancer. Nonna says that with everyone's help, hopefully by the time we're big boys, this cancer will have a cure and other kiddos won't have to grow up without their granddaddies like we did.
