August 17, 2017, I will never forget! As Hurricane Harvey was making landfall in Houston. My family was hit with a personal Hurricane, Pancreatic Cancer. I got a call from my mom to tell me a CT scan discovered a mass in the middle of her Pancreas with lesions on the Liver. The words from my mom echo in my mind even today, "I have Pancreatic Cancer and it's in my Liver".
On January 22, 2018, another bright spark in the world was prematurely extinguished by Pancreatic Cancer. My mother liked to bring joy to others with her big heart and infectious smile. After her diagnosis of Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, she truly wanted to be a light to help others in their fight with cancer. Today, I strive to carry on the legacy she started by being a advocate and helping to raise awareness. PANCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network) was there for my family, and they need our support to work toward improving outcomes for current and future pancreatic cancer patients.
Will you walk with me on Saturday, April 27th in Houston? If you aren't able, will you consider donating? Every dollar that you give ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to improve outcomes for Pancreatic Cancer patients and their families.
Thank you for your support,
The Hadley Family
