Hey, there!

As you know, our beloved Joe Sims lost his life to pancreatic cancer. He had been walking 5 miles a day just prior to his stage 4 diagnosis. We lost him in just 9 weeks, leaving a gaping hole in our lives. 

My team and I are taking steps to end pancreatic cancer at PanCAN PurpleStride on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

We want to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and we need your help to do that!

Here are the sad facts about pancreatic cancer:

-    Pancreatic cancer is the world’s toughest cancer with a five-year survival rate of 13%, the lowest of all major cancers.

-    It’s expected to become the 2nd leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S. by 2030 (currently the 3rd).

-    One in 59 people will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in their lifetime, more than 64,000 Americans this year. Most, like Joe, won't live a year.

-    51,750 Americans will die from pancreatic cancer this year. 

The need for earlier detection and more effective treatments is urgent.

PanCAN PurpleStride is the number one way PanCAN raises money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients, and gives them free, personalized one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services.
