Our team wants to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and we need you to do it!

At the age of 55, Suzy was diagnosed in August 2020 with Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma in the head of her pancreas.  She knew the cancer was aggressive and the prognosis was grim. However, that didn't phase her mind, body, and spirit to fight! The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network was a vital resource in finding the best course of action for care and treatment.  

Due to early detection, Suzy was a candidate for the Whipple Procedure.  She completed her first rounds of treatment and had the procedure completed.  Once she recovered, she finished her next bout of treatment and was able to ring that bell!  Suzy was considered NED (No Evidence of Disease) for 6 months before an unfortunate recurrence.  We all took a day to be sad and feel sorry for ourselves, but the next day Suzy jumped back on the horse and headed back to battle.  

Suzy continued to fight for 7 months with the best attitude.  We are so very thankful for how far research has come.  With the progression of the research, everyone who knew her was able to make more memories and enjoy their time with such an amazing person.   She is deeply missed by so many because she was simply the best.  Suzy was fun, real, caring, selfless, beautiful, tough, smart, fair, empathetic, stubborn, social, and lastly steadfast.  For Suzy, this team will remain the same.  We will remain steadfast in finding ways to help progress science toward fighting Pancreatic Cancer so patients one day find a cure or simply more (quality) life!

We’re taking steps at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.
