Lucy Jane "Janie" Lasek was a magnetic force with unparalleled wit and never-ending compassion. In August of 2021, Janie was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but she loved the color purple long before that. 

On April 30, 2023, after the most heroic and hard-fought battle, Janie was called to eternal rest. Navigating the loss of such an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend has not been easy for those Janie left behind, but we – her loves – find great comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering. 

Aptly named, Lucy's Loves will be participating in the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer: PanCAN's PurpleStride. On Saturday, April 27, 2024, we will walk in Janie's honor alongside survivors, patients and their families to raise money to fund vital research.
