My father was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in early 2023 and by June he was gone. He was only a year into retirement when diagnosed, and sadly had spent his first year of retirement recovering and healing from traumatic brain injury due to a car accident.

He will no longer be able to see his grandchildren grow up, no longer able to chat with me about life, cars, politics, the bible, and football. He's no longer able to enjoy his late life which he worked so hard for with my Mother. He left behind an entire family who loved him. He was the leader of our family and we miss him every day.

Pancreatic Cancer is one of the worst cancers for a few reasons. One, it's highly undetectable. It's damn near impossible to catch it early and even if you do catch it the 5-year survival rate is only currently at 10%. There is A LOT of work left to be done to fight this horrific cancer. We might not see the direct benefits or effects from our efforts today, but possibly our kids, grandkids and generation to come.

We may not be riding on the Mayflower to the promised land just yet, but let's begin building and planning that maiden voyage NOW ! Anything helps.
