Welcome to Our PanCAN PurpleStride Team Fundraising Page!

My name is Alexis Schueller.  I am a 5th grader at American Martyr's School in Manhattan Beach.  My school teaches us the importance of being involved in our community through family service projects. For my school service project - I am raising funds to support pancreatic cancer reasearch.

We are doing this for my Lola Letty, my grandma (who lost her fight when I was 1 years old) and my great aunt Pauline Dorr, my dad's aunt.  Both of them fought very hard to get better but without effective treatment options, their determination to fight was not enough.

Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all cancers - just 3%-6% of those diagnosed survive for five years.

Losing both my Lola Letty and Great Aunt Pauline left lasting impact on both my mom and my dad’s families and most especially me. It is a loss we feel especially during birthdays, Christmas and times of celebration.  The void created by their absences will always be felt and it’s a daily reminder of the devastating effects of this aggressive disease.

Supporting pancreatic cancer research is not just a commitment to honor my Lola Letty and Great Aunt Pauline, but a proactive effort to contribute towards a future where fewer families experience the heartbreak caused by this terrible disease.  By championing research initiatives, we strive to improve early detection methods, enhance treatment options and ultimately, find a cure.

PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.

My family is participating in the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 27, 2024. But we need your help!

Let us work together against pancreatic cancer – A gift of any size will help patients and families facing a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

Thank you for your support!
