As most of you know, our father was diagnosed on June 30th with pancreatic cancer as our hearts were broken by this news, July 12th we found out it was stage 4 and had already spread to his liver. With shattering hearts we were told he’d only have 11 months - 2 years left with us. Ultimately we left our faith to God. After that my fathers health took a rapid decline, leaving us begging to even see the amount of time estimated. With no chance to fight, or even process the news we had just received on July 19th pancreatic cancer claimed his life. No symptoms before any of this, no testing is done as per of any yearly physicals because research still doesn’t know how this happens and pancreatic cancer you only find out once it’s too late unless you know it’s genetic. I will walk with a cause. I walk for you Daddy. Support my family and I, he didn’t have the chance to fight but we can come together and fight for him and for those still fighting. 

We’re taking steps at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

PurpleStride participants raise money to fund vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients; free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.
