Our team wants to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and we need you to do it!

We’re taking steps for Nancy, whom her grandchildren called “Nonnie”, who lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on September 7, 2023.  The ultimate goal is to end pancreatic cancer; join our team at the PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 27, 2024, just three days before Nonnie’s birthday.

Below is a personal message from Nonnie's family: 

March 7, 2024 marked 6 months. Six months of missing our beautiful, strong, thoughtful, talented, loving, Mom/Nonnie. Six months since we had to face death in the eye alongside her and say goodbye until we see her again in eternal life - what a beautiful moment that will be.

Last weekend, Lia took home a balloon from a birthday party. The next day she asked me, "Mom, can I write a note to Nonnie and send it up to her in heaven?". Even though my nature- loving self knows sending a helium balloon into the sky is not the most earth-friendly thing to do, I could not deny her request.

Dear Nonnie,

I miss you soooo much. You mean so much to me. Jim and Bella (her husband and dog) miss you too. Bella used to get scared you would be there. Now Bella has to fight. I sent this balloon to show you how much you mean to me. 

Nonnie guess what your still always with me even though I can't see you right next to me!

Nonnie I want to be an artist like you. Please answer my note however you can.

After my Mom's passing, her amazing oncologist called to personally offer his condolences. He talked about how wonderful of a woman she was and that he will always remember her strength, grace, and positive spirit dealing with this terrible disease, even when she knew the cancer would take her life here on earth with us. I told him we requested donations in her honor be directed to PanCan. He said, that is wonderful, we need to do better. We need more treatment options to offer patients with pancreatic cancer. What we have now is not enough. Please help us to DO BETTER!
