Welcome to our team fundraising page!

Dear Friends and Family,

This year I will be raising money again for Team Henrici for the Boston PurpleStride to raise money for the fight against Pancreatic Cancer. It is with an extremely heavy heart that I am fundraising for PurpleStride not only without my dad and now his best friend and dear brother, Ken Henrici, with us. Our hearts have been broken even since my uncle Kenny passed away suddenly on November 4th, 2023. I started fundraising for Team Henrici in November because even in his final gesture, Kenny’s devoted wife Meryl and loving sons Doug and Mike decided that Kenny would want to honor his little brother and asked for donations to PanCan in lieu of flowers at his services.  As most of you know, my dad lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer after a 17 month battle on October 24, 2018. I cannot believe it has been 5 years. It was one of the hardest times of my life. However the past 18 months have been extremely challenging, especially with losing Kenny. My loving and resilient mother has been winning her fight with Ovarian cancer since last March and my cousin's sweet and incredibly strong wife won her battle against breast cancer in 2023. Both are thriving today and are still continuing their fights against their respective diseases with the INCREDIBLE state-of-the art scientific advancements that are offered today to treat, and beat, cancer. I have had a front row seat to see the dramatic advancements in cancer treatment since my dad’s passing and I could not be more grateful for this. My wish is that the types of treatments that are available for other types of cancer are soon standard care for patients battling Pancreatic Cancer and we win the fight against all cancers.

For those of you who know me, my dad was my hero and I love him immensely. We were two of a kind. There are no words to express what my dad meant to me or my sadness of his passing, even 5 years later.  There is a sense of relief knowing that my dad is with his best friend and loyal brother Ken. I know that my dad greeted him with a long embrace and had several Coronas on ice waiting for him. Both my father and Ken loved hard. They loved their friends, family, community, animals, all people  ... and life in general. I will forever be grateful to my dear uncle Kenny, who did all he could to fill the empty space in my heart and life. I think of them and miss both each and every day.

Please support me as I raise money for PurpleStride Boston in honor of Kenny and my father, Craig. The walk is Saturday, April 27th at 10 :00am along the beach at Carson Beach in South Boston.

I apologize for the late notice but I invite you all to come walk with us. I also would truly appreciate any donations.

With love and gratitude,

Jill
