My first PurpleStride walk was in June 2012.  I signed on because my beautiful sister, Heide, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in October 2010.  Heide walked the full 5K with her team.  She had so much fun that she wanted to participate at the next walk in 2013.  Unfortunately, this awful disease took Heide from us in November 2012.  I have decided that as long as I am able, I will do my best to participate every year.  My goal is to raise $1,000 and to become a five year member of the grand club.  Fortunately, I do not need to reach this goal before the walk.

Heide's Hikers is raising money in support of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network by participating in PurpleStride. By making a donation to our team, you are supporting efforts to double survival for this deadly disease by 2020.
